The PBST™ cast-in-place post base is designed to provide a strong, reliable connection between wood posts and concrete. Ideal for residential construction, the PBST delivers high allowable loads and excellent performance with S-shaped stiffening tabs that enhance download capacity. A ZMAX® finish offers added corrosion resistance and embossed vertical straps contribute to overall strength. The base maintains a 1 in standoff to help protect posts from moisture related rot and it installs into concrete with minimal side clearance. The PBST can be fastened with nails, bolts or Strong-Drive® SD connector screws and is available for nominal 4 x 4, 4 x 6 and 6 x 6 post sizes. The patent pending design of the PBST delivers a durable, code listed performance and serves as a replacement for PBS models, delivering improved functionality while meeting structural requirements.
